Xbox One Price Drop - Can it Finally Beat the PS4?

@dannydopamine18 Neither system uses a Jaguar GPU. They do use Jaguar CPUs. Contrary to popular belief that doesn't mean they use the same CPU. Jaguar is a family of CPUs. Besides, the CPUs in both consoles are customized to have more coprocessors and cache memory than normal. A direct comparison can't be made without information we don't have. We do know that the PS4's CPU performs marginally better when decoding video compression. Not a very good test for game performance though. That doesn't account for any gains due to the coprocessors either. Better just to admit we don't know which one is better overall for gaming and move on.

The Xbox One has DDR3, not GDDR3. There is a difference. Clock speed of RAM does matter, but it shouldn't be used as a method of measuring performance. The numbers that matter are bandwidth and latency. Latency isn't much for gaming as it is in a multi-tasking environment, and the PS4 likely uses a better memory controller than most GPUs since the GDDR5 pool is being used for system RAM as well. GDDR5 does have a TON more bandwidth than DDR3. The eSRAM helps in some situtations for the Xbox One, but it doesn't make up for the lack of a large pool of high bandwidth RAM. PS4 has the obvious advantage when it comes to RAM regardless of what people try to pretend.

And obviously the GPU in the PS4 has 50% more compute units. That's been covered time and time again though.

By the way, "TFLOPS of graphical data" makes no sense. First off, it's TFLOPs (the s isn't capital, minor grammar issue I know). It stands for Tera FLoating point OPerations. It's not a measurement of data. It's a rate of performance. Floating point operations are definitely run on graphical data, but you don't have TFLOPs of graphical data. That just makes no sense.
